I have a question... Why do us mom's take on so much? I mean it's not like I was busy enough with the kids and not having any extra time, but then I go and start taking EMT classes. Have I lost my freaking mind? I guess I coined it off to thinking that this is something for me to do, which it is. But why did I think that this was going to be a piece of cake? (and without icing no less)... Did I really think that I had the time to read, answer questions, think, study, take tests and all the rest of the stuff that goes along with taking a class? Well I must have thought I didn't have enough to do with homeschooling Cody, Ariel and flag corp practice and football games and dances (you know how the high school socialite can be), and Joey....working all of these training programs with him everyday, therapy every week and helping him to learn. Then when you throw in the house, the laundry, the cooking, the cleaning, the dogs, the cleaning for other people, running here, running there, running everywhere (no wonder I need a new pair of running shoes...think Forrest Gump will let me borrow his Nike's?)... I AM EXHAUSTED, lololol.... but you know what? I LOVE IT!!!! This is me.
I thought about this class for a long time and how it could bring Wayne and I even closer together, I was going to do it for us.... But now I see that I am doing it for me :o) I really like it (so far anyway) I know that class will be over in just a matter of a couple of months and my hectic life will be just a little less hectic, but now I feel like Sandy again. Not just Ariel, Joey, Cody or Tiffany' mom. I am not just Wayne's wife. I am SANDY!!!!!!!!! I forgot at some point in my life that there was a me and I am slowly finding me again and it is great. It is great to know that if I should have to return to working outside of home again one day that I can have a rewarding career now. I mean sure I could go back to working in an office environment again, but that is not who I am anymore. I love helping people and this is one great way to be able to do that. Sure you will have the frequent flyers that want the ambulance to take them to the hospital so that they can have some company, but then you have that ONE.... that one that really needs your help and you can give it to them. I can see it as being very rewarding. Now I know why my husband LOVES his job so much. And who knows, maybe I will add college one day to my busy and hectic life and become a paramedic, just like Wayne. But I will save that for one day when I grow up :o)
Well these were just some random thoughts that were going through my head this morning. You know what else? I had forgotten that I had a brain and knew how to use it....Isn't a hectic life great?
Till next time....
Sandy

I have been tagged...
Well now, it seems that my wonderful friend Di has tagged me :o) So here goes...
7 Random facts about me:
1. I had my picture in the newspaper when I was little because my dog tried to save my new born bunny rabbits by letting them nurse on her when the mama bunny rejected them.
2. I still love music from the 70's and 80's.
3. I LOVE calling West Virginia home.
4. I am starting EMT classes next week.
5. I wish I had a housekeeper.
6. Not only am I a scrapbooker but also a collector scrapbooking supplies.
7. This is my motto: Live for today, for you know not what tomorrow brings.... But I love Di's Motto and wish I would of thought of it :o) "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safety in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, mocha latte in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOO HOO, what a ride!”
So here are the rules:
1) The winner can put the logo on their blog. (Sorry, the logo disappeared and I didn't "win" anything!)
2) Link the person you received your award from.
3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4) Put links of those on yours.
5) Leave a message on the blogs of the girls or boys you’ve nominated.
Who to nominate....
Anyone who reads this borning blog and my sisters of the YaYa Scrappin' Friends.

Homeschooling....again....
this year and once again I am scared to death. Cody will be in the 8th grade and I often wonder if I can do this, and then I found this.....
Saturday, August 9, 2008
Wow...
I didn't realize that it has been so long since I posted here. We are getting ready for school, Ariel is going to be in the 11th grade....geesh time flies. Cody will be homeschooled again this year for the 8th grade. I took a little time off of scrapbooking and I believe that my inspiration is finally coming back. You can check out www.scrapbookingfriendsclub.blogspot.com and see the album that I completed last night for a class that I am teaching this coming Saturday. Enjoy and leave some comments about it.
Now since I am feeling creative, I am off to work on another class :o)

Green
With today being all about green, "St. Patrick's Day", I have been thinking. What have we done to become for "green" friendly? Well I have changed almost all of my lightbulbs in the house to the new flourescent kind. I try to plan my days so that if I have to run errands I can get them done at one time to help save on gas. I notice at the grocery store yesterday that Clorox has come out with new "green" cleaners. I think that I will start giving them a try when I start running out.
Not only with trying to be more green friendly we are all trying to save money too. The government does not want to admit that we are in a recession, but what else would you call it? Prices of everything is going up, but our pay is staying the sames. I paid $3.42 for gas yesterday and it took $40.00 to fill up my little car. That is rediculous! I was going to get a gallon of milk when I was in K-Mart the other day just to save a stop at the grocery store, but it was $4.29 a gallon! Now I hear on the news that our personal property taxes will be going up again to help the schools. Then we have a presidential election this year that is really scaring me! We have a person who does not want to salute our flag or say our pledge of allegiance. We have another person whose husband was in the oval office for 8 years and did not do a good job. We have a republican (which is how I "usually" vote) that I feel I couldn't trust even if I could throw him. So what is a person to do. Who is a person supposed to vote for? All I hear is that "America needs a change" well tell me what you are going to do to change it!
Well so now let's talk about homeschooling. It is fun :) It only takes about 3 hours a day. Cody is like a sponge! The only thing that he even wants to watch on tv now is the history channel or discovery channel. He is really excited about our trip to Washington DC. We all are! And the fun thing is that we can use this trip as school work :)
And last but not least look at the new pictures of Dominick. It is so hard to believe that he will be a year old next week...

School is fun
That is what Cody told me last night :) I hope that he enjoys homeschooling as much as he did when we lived in Louisiana. Tonight he is going to see the Globetrotters, so that will be fun... Yesterday we worked on Math, Spelling, Health and the Presidential Elections. Then we went to the park and walked for a while, about 30 minutes.
O.K. I know that this is short, but I have a busy day today :)

A new start...
Well I figured since our lives are dramatically changing that I need to start writing in my blog again. I know that I have said that before, but I am hoping that I can hold myself accountable now.
We are starting a old, new adventure in our household. Cody is going to be homeschooled! We homeschooled when we lived in Louisiana and loved it. He was in the 2nd grade then though. Now he is in the 7th....he is looking forward to it though! We are starting officially on Monday, March 10. We will be doing the 3 r's, but we are also going to be doing unit studies which can be really fun. Our first one is on Anne Franke and the Holocaust. We went to the library the other day and checked out some things. Cody watched the movie, "The Diary of Anne Franke" he sat mesmerized in front of the tv for almost 4 hours and did not move. We will be going to Washington DC soon and we will be touring the Holocaust museum.
Now on another note....we found out what was causing a lot of Cody's behavioral outbursts. He is allergic to red food dye's. Took him off of red and he is a totally different kid. Now he is a normal 12 year old with an attitude :)
Well time to close this one. I will try to post each day what we in homeschooling :)

Twice in one month...
Wow I am doing good :) Let's see there is a lot happening....The scrapbooking classes are doing wonderful! I am so happy that I get to share this wonderful hobby with others. I will take pictures of the layouts that I have taught and post them soon. I thought I had already taken the pictures, but I can't find them right now.
Well Cody and Ariel made it through the first semester of school, Ariel the 10th grade and Cody in his first year of junior high...7th grade. I thought that Cody would kill me before I got him through this past semester. I have never had problems like this with him at school...but all grades were passing, so I guess that is good. But the really scary thing is that in the second semester Ariel is in Driver's Education....they start driving on Monday. I am going to stay OFF the road, lol.
Wayne did very well this past semester in his medic class. We are on the home stretch now. He is doing clinicals one day a week, school 2 days a week and ride time as a medic student in the ambulance, plus still working overtime. He will test out at the end of the summer. I know he will do very well and he is loving the medic aspect of his job.
My grandson Dominick is standing up and will be walking soon!!!! I told Tiffany that she needs to invest in a good pair of running shoes now, because she will be constantly running after him :) ohhhhh the joys of motherhood, hehehehe..... He is working on trying to cut his first tooth also, but he just wants to put the teething ring on his head instead of his mouth, lol.
Well I will post pictures soon....so stay tuned to this station :)

I told ya so...
See one of my resolutions was to blog more....Well look it hasn't been a month since I posted :) I don't really have much to say.
There was really sad news earlier in the week. One of my very best friend's lost her grandson this week. Christian was 7 years old and had Cerebral Palsy. He was a light in Donna's heart and she showed us his light everytime she would talk about him.... We (everyone on the group) felt like Christian's Aunt's....we lost him too. But he did what he was supposed to do here on earth and now has his beautiful wings and will go on to help someone else now. God Bless You Christian, you will be sadly missed.
That's it for now....
